Hello, Welcome back to Pokemoner.com, and I’m Pokemoner. Today, We will play Pokemon H2 by OceanMan. It’s a GBC Hack ROM and based on Pokemon Gold. It’s inspired by Pokemon H.
You are Mario and you will rescue Luigi at Mt. Silver. The story is Pokemon Gold Story with everything is Letter H! It’s completed. And now, Let’s play!
After rescuing Mario from the H-corrupted hellscape of Kanto, Luigi decided to take a vacation to the Johto region. However, he was still unknowingly infected with the H-virus, and it quickly started spreading. Luigi panicked and fled to Mt. Silver to quarantine himself. As Mario, you will conquer the Johto region, rescue your brother, and defeat the H-virus one and (hopefully) for all!
Notes about the game
Some cries don’t match up with their sprite, ex. a large H having the medium cry. That’s not an oversight. Some have a different cry because of their position in the evolution line (ex. Ponyta is medium sized, but has the small H cry due to it being the first Pokémon in the evolution line), and some of them because I didn’t think it fit them.
Some of the sprites just wouldn’t cooperate. It wasn’t that I wasn’t saving the rom or anything. There were some sprites that He assigned an incorrect size, and for some reason wouldn’t change when He tried to fix them. These Pokémon include Muk, Weezing, Vileplume, Xatu, Azumarill, Spinarak, Sneasel, and Swinub. You’ll notice it in those last 3 since they are small Pokémon that have medium sized sprites.
Mario walks weird.
Mario walks weird pt. 2. For some reason when he walks up or down, the sprite will occasionally flip. It actually does this for all overworld sprites (thats why most of them are symmetrical, so that you don’t notice.)
On the “Game Freak Presents” screen, you’ll notice that there is a seemingly random rectangle next to the H where “Game Freak” once was. Even if the image is completely blank, that rectangle will appear. This happens because the game is trying to save on memory, so instead of using one large sprite, they use multiple little assets to stitch together the title. That rectangle was most likely coded to appear.
This game is a GBC Hack ROM. It’s Completed!
